Again I am going with an imported engine this time from Nissan. This is a 2.6 liter in-line 6 cylinder engine. The engine comes stock twin turbocharged. Another thing that makes this engine unique is that it has 6 individual throttle bodies. This engine come in a Nissan skyline GTR. I would have to say this is one of my favorite cars of all time the car only comes in all wheel drive and for a while you could not get a license plate for it in the united states. Therefore the engine was commonly ordered from Japan and swapped into other Nissan models such as the 240sx or 300zx I have even heard of cases with the 350z. The engine has commonly made over 600 all-wheel-horsepower with the stock engine internals. With the way that this engine was engineered it makes it really easy to make more power out of it. Really I would not want to max the engine out because I think that it would be more fun to just have it be slightly faster than stock. I would convert it to a single variable geometry turbo and do an air to water setup for a cooling system. One of the problems you run into when you run a huge turbocharger like this engine would desire, is that you have a bad turbo lag thats why I would run a variable geometry turbo. I would do a big break setup from Brembo running a 6 piston caliper on the fronts and the 4 piston rears. I can only dream of ever driving one let alone owning one but thats why I have a poster of this awesome car on my wall in my room, and it is the background of my computer.

I got to sit in one at the car show a couple of years ago. (My husband worked for Nissan.)
ReplyDeleteGreat addition of visuals, Jake. Keep up the good work.
